Left hanging
We talk about curveballs, breaking points, breakthroughs, turning points, ruptures.
I recently felt like I was left hanging. I was in bed, barely moving as I was in a lot of pain after a bike accident. Me, who is constantly moving. Me, who had to buy a huge sofa to (try to) learn to rest. Me, who deals with pain by getting on with it, sweating it all out. Me, in bed for days. I had physical pain and I had emotional pain. And I had no where to go. I feel like I’m in limbo, I said a lot those days. Powerless, having to wait for decisions to be made and for my body to be healed. Restless, while only rest could help me.
Amongst many different things, the Primus pieces are a metaphor to how we think we are whole vessels. Alas, as we walk through life we start breaking apart, flopping, falling. Trauma, heartbreaks, disappointments. And so, I’ve learnt that life is nothing other than the art of learning to keep going, keeping a strong stance and our life force alive, while holding all those cracks, all that wonderful vulnerability that makes us human.
And then I left them hanging.
Tethered, dependable,
balancing groundedness
with lightness.
